At times, life gets overwhelming. You find yourself doing many things forcefully, performing tasks out of your last strength, and you feel sluggish and simply off. At least, that’s certainly about me, so just to make it sound more personal.
Today, I did a lot of thinking, a lot of reflecting upon my situation, I even called a social worker to vent all my thoughts. I felt listened to and understood. So in the end, I came up with the idea of writing a list. I called it “My Personal Plan of Tasks Not To Be PUT OFF!”. So far, I have 13 points listed on it and they include a lot of life improvement strategies I want to implement until 2017 is over. A lot of those tasks are actually things I always wanted to do but was kind of scared to start doing, things I did before but don’t have time for right now, things I dreamt of doing and am in the right place and state of mind to initiate them. Well, you get the point.

This list will probably get updated from time to time, will be modified and added to as the time goes by, so I decided that flexibility should become my second nature right now. I can’t say I’m not flexible now, I’m a mom after all and flexibility is key to everything, but I have many days when I do things my way, well planned in advance. I love planning everything in my life, I love working out my plans during the week, yet, now, I feel like I need to go with the flow in order to be able to smoothly carry out my Big Plan. At this point in my life, I feel like I’ve been asleep or sleep-walking for a very long period of time, and I need a change.

So the point of this post is to encourage you to do the same. If you feel like something is off in your life, you need constant boost to do something, you don’t feel like yourself lately, you feel like you could do better but you keep pacing the same ground – just BE BRAVE and make a change! This is YOUR life and only yours to live! You own it, you rule it, you make the rules for it. If something scares you at first, take small steps towards a minor change, then go bigger and bigger as you go.
Don’t think about failure or “what if nothing’s going to work out”. It will all work out, something better will come up and you’ll probably get the surprise of your life to jump beyond your expectations. You can make a change by simply incorporating a new habit in your everyday life, or by starting yoga, exercise, whatever works for you. The most important thing here is TO START and to keep going and trying.
Life can be so shitty and miserable, but it’s always up to us to make it better. If you can’t cope alone, always ask for help, you might just win yourself a new friend or connection. In the end, we are all human beings with an amazing life to live. The best part of it all – WE DECIDE how to live it!
